The Worcester NAACP will be presenting an Education Forum on Saturday, October 24th from 9:30am until 3:00pm at Belmont AME Zion Church, 55 Illinois St., Worcester. Their theme, "Supporting Student Success" will incorporate interactive workshops designed to assist parents/guardians as they help their students navigate school life. Workshop topics will focus on issues that concern our parents: student safety, special education (IEP, ESL), mental health/substance abuse and growth mindset Also, a panel discussion "Ways My Family Supported Me & What I Wish My Family Had Done" will be lead by future educators currently in college. Other information will be presented: tuition assistance programs, community programs for youth and services to assist families in need.
If you are a parent/guardian of a Worcester Public School student, please plan to attend. Top professionals from the Worcester Public Schools, and participating colleges will lead the workshops and be ready to answer questions. This is a great opportunity to get the information you need to help your student succeed!
A light breakfast and lunch will be provided as well as childcare. Backpacks, notebooks, books will be given away first come, first served.
