January 23, 2017

WASHINGTON, DC – With Senators rumored to vote as early as tomorrow on the controversial Attorney General, leaders from two of the nation’s largest advocacy groups are urging supporters to call in opposition of Sen. Jefferson Beauregard Sessions’ nomination.

On the heels of the Women’s March on Washington on Saturday, NAACP President and CEO Cornell William Brooks and Greenpeace Executive Director Annie Leonard are calling on people looking to stop abuses to civil rights and the environment to contact their lawmakers.

Call 1-877-959-6082 to connect with your senators to oppose the nomination. Thousands of people have spoken with all 100 U.S. Senators in recent weeks in opposition to Sessions’ troubling record on civil rights, voting rights, immigration, and criminal justice.

The NAACP and Greenpeace are members of the Democracy Initiative, a coalition of the nation’s largest organizations standing for public accountability, civil rights and protecting the right to vote from government interference.
